Nana's bluntness

When Nana leaves the adult day care Sister Barbara used to say "see you tomorrow Ann". Mom would respond with "I hope not". Sister Barb no longer says this to Mom.

The aide unknowingly said to Mom "see you tomorrow Ann". Mom promptly told her she hoped not!!

Mom has called me "Cathy" for 2 months now. Rick is "Rick" and sometimes "Dave". She loves Rick even if she thinks he is Dave at times. He takes her to the daycare everyday--they have a daily mass when the priest is well. He has been ill. They also say the rosary 3 times a week. They have table bocce ball which Mom has won twice. When she was throwing a lousy ball she will say "geeeze". She also won a calendar in Bingo. There are all kinds of activities and she is really tired when she gets home. Not too tired to ask me a hundred times "where am I". She also asks "am I sleeping here?" Rick tells her "no you are sleeping at the Holiday Inn". She will look at him and say "No I am not!" Occasionally there is a light that goes off in there.

 

Last night she repeadedly asked where Rick was.  I asked her if she wanted to see him after the 10th time she asked for him.  She said "not really". It was one of those moments where you had to have heard it!!
